We’re curious about our visitors, some of you are new to using Backyard Bass, others are starting new programs and some visitors are looking for additional materials or ideas for an existing program. Take a moment and tell us about your experience with Backyard Bass. We’d love to hear from you and your input will help us develop new materials for the site.

Thanks,
Loren

I have been using BYB since last summer (2009) when I became the Go FishIN Coordinator. Ten times out of ten, the first adult or kid that snags a BYB reels the fish all the way to the rod’s tip. I wait for it and make it a teaching moment.

I am the program coordinator for Go FishIN–a sport fishing and aquatic resource education program through the Indiana DNR’s Div. Fish and Wildlife.

Testimonials

“Kids love playing with the Backyard Bass. It truly is a great way to practice casting while having fun. I recommend it to parents and grandparents all the time.”
Tanya Z. Angler Educator

“Backyard Bass are the perfect lead-up casting activity for my Angling unit. They are a great instructional tool for teaching fish identification as well as being a great target for casting practice. My high school students enjoy the indoor Backyard Bass tournaments as much as the real thing out on the water sometimes.”
Tonya G. Exercise and Sport Science Teacher

"...Backyard Bass games was a big hit and was instrumental in achieving our goal. We had 308 kids who came to participate in our event. We had great weather conditions and the kids were smiling all day long."
